I was born behind the wheel. It started with my first big wheel, grew alongside my collection of Hot Wheels and then came to full fruition during my days as a professional racer. In my professional life outside the cockpit I’ve been fortunate to have been instrumental in the growth of many businesses in the automotive sector. It’s one thing to take control of a powerful vehicle and tame it, it’s wholly different yet just as fulfilling to build an organization from the ground up and steer it towards success. I can attest that the rush is the same although there is a slight difference in the amount of adrenaline that’s involved. I invested myself within the digital economy at a very good time, it was a time of opportunity for my businesses and an opportunity to grow my skill sets. I had initially entered into this as a marketer but along the way I became very proficient as a digital technologist and data scientist. When you’re piloting a race car the world comes at you rather quickly and much of what you do is a reflex action. From the perspective of data science it’s the opposite as the minutiae is my world and my actions are purposely planned for the long haul. My current endeavour is based upon my practical experiences of the past ten years and a vision I foresaw in relation to the subprime auto financing sector. YULDrive is destined to be a disruptive force in this industry and I’m very much looking forward to piloting this one to the checkered flag as well.
