"Great Service and Product"I love the fact that I can send or request documents from a customer and it is easy to get the documents back in a secured site via text message. Our company switched from Docusign to Lightico, as Lightico is easier and more convenient than Docusign, as the customer can choose between receiving a text message or an email.

Lightico eSign FAQ
“Electronic signature” refers to the depiction of a person’s name associated with a contract or other record and executed or adopted by a person demonstrating the intent to sign the record. eSignatures replace wet signatures and thanks to eSign technology, it’s now possible to sign documents, agreements, forms, and powers of attorney on a computer or cell phone instead of printing, signing, sending, or showing up in person.
Electronic signature and digital signature are often used interchangeably, but these two concepts are slightly different. Both eSignatures and digital signatures are legally binding. The difference between the two is that an electronic signature is a finger swipe or typed signature by a person with the intent to sign – usually associated with a contract, whereas a digital signature is mainly used to secure documents and is authorized by certification authorities to guarantee that a document is authentic.
Absolutely. As customer attention has become ever more scarce, they expect to be able to purchase anything from anywhere- why should your product or service be different? It’s critical to make your final transactions easy, accessible and convenient and to not make your customers rely on outdated and cumbersome equipment like printers, scanners, desktop PCs and even fax machines to provide signatures.
With Lightico, all customer-facing processes – including signatures, can easily be completed with simple finger swipes on their cell phones from wherever they are. Lightico is user-friendly for all.

Yes, eSignatures are legally binding including typed signautres. Today, nearly 20 years after the ESIGN Act, there is no longer any question about whether electronic signatures are legal. eSignatures have the same legality as wet signatures. Electronically signed agreements, contracts, transactions, forms and other documents won’t be denied legality because they don’t contain a wet signature.

An electronic signature is created using the signing party’s private key, which must be securely stored by the signing party. A cryptographic algorithm works like a cipher, generating data matching the signed document (a hash), and then encrypts that data. The result of encryption is a digital signature. The signature is also dated. If the document changes before signing, the digital signature becomes invalid.
To ensure the security of digital signatures, public key infrastructure (PKI) requires that the keys be generated, conducted, and stored securely. Often, this means using a certificate authority (CA).
Free electronic signature software exists. However, there is no way to ensure the document is authentic other than to add a digital watermark to the uploaded files. Learn more in this post.
Whether using an app or desktop, the best way to design a PDF is to upload the doc and add a saved signature. To sign PDF documents, first, create an electronic signature. Then, place it or your initials somewhere within the PDF document. You can either type, draw, or use an existing image of your signature.
You will receive a text link that opens up to your device’s secure web browser with an intuitive mobile environment enabled. From there, you’ll be able to easily upload documents, fill out forms, send ID verification, and complete an esignature from your phone.
